Camping Tarps
Material and Coating:
Fabric: Nylon or polyester (lightweight and waterproof) are preferred. Cotton fabric is prone to mold and is heavy.
Coating: Black gel offers the best sun protection (UPF 50+, reduces temperature by 8-12℃), followed by silver coating (30% lower price but prone to peeling).
Size: For family camping, choose 20 square meters (such as 4.5m x 4.3m, which can accommodate 6-8 people). For solo light hiking, choose 12-15 square meters.
Accessories and Wind Resistance:
The support rods should be made of aluminum alloy (with a diameter of ≥ 4 cm). A height of more than 2.4 meters provides better visibility.
The stakes are made of boldened aluminum alloy. For beach camping, special sand-proof stakes are required.
Building techniques and scene adaptation
Basic steps:
Fix the A/D support poles (equidistant from the edge of the canopy) → Straighten the wind ropes at E/F points (forming a straight line with C/B points) → Tighten all the wind ropes.
Incorrect operation: Pulling the wind ropes around first will cause wrinkles. It is necessary to first pull the symmetrical axis and then the surrounding ones.
Scene optimization:
Family picnic: Use a single slope shape (open view, but weak wind protection).
Wind-prone environment: Choose a dome structure (able to withstand a 7-level wind) or a conical shape (with three sides for rain protection).
