Camping Sleeping Bags

A sleeping bag is a bag used for sleeping. Most sleeping bags on the market have labels indicating the comfortable temperature and the extreme temperature. The comfortable temperature refers to a series of temperatures experienced by the user throughout the night of sleep, with both a maximum and minimum limit. The maximum comfortable temperature is the kind of heat that makes one feel warm but not sweat profusely. Generally, this situation is defined as when the sleeping bag zipper is open, the arms are placed outside, and the head of the sleeping bag is not tightened. Filler material
The filling materials for sleeping bags mainly include two types: down and synthetic cotton. In addition, there are also single-layer fleece sleeping bags.
The requirements for the inner and outer materials of a down sleeping bag are very high. The inner lining material usually needs to be above 200T. This is because if the index of the inner lining material is lower than 200T, some hairs may protrude. Some good sleeping bags often use good nylon materials, which will not cause the down to protrude. This material is light and feels soft when in contact with the skin.
The outer material of the sleeping bag: Good down is mostly made of waterproof breathable materials. Because in some extremely cold places, when you wake up in the morning, small water droplets formed by the condensation of the heat inside the tent often splash onto the sleeping bag. Therefore, the outer material of the sleeping bag must have certain waterproof properties to ensure the dryness of the sleeping bag. Since a down sleeping bag gets wet and is difficult to dry, this will lose its insulating performance. Therefore, waterproof breathable materials must be used as its outer fabric.
There are three common shapes of sleeping bags: Mami style, envelope style, and beer barrel style. The Mami style is also called Mummy style or Egyptian style. This sleeping bag has a wide shoulder and narrow feet. The shoulder width is generally 75 to 85 centimeters, and the foot width is 35 to 45 centimeters. The Mami style sleeping bag is the sleeping bag shape that can achieve good insulation effect with the same weight. It is suitable for cold seasons. The envelope style sleeping bag, as the name suggests, has the same width for the shoulder and feet, like an envelope. Such sleeping bags are relatively loose and suitable for warm seasons and people with a wide body shape. The mixed sleeping bag combines the two. Most of them are envelope sleeping bags with a Mami-style hood.
The popular sleeping bags internationally are small caps. The human body is streamlined (the wide part is not at the neckline, but at the shoulders and elbows). The large round caps in the past not only increased weight but also were not conducive to insulation. Some people call this new type of sleeping bag "beer barrel", and some call it "cocoon style". In fact, it is just an evolution of the first two sleeping bags. It absorbs the advantages of the first two sleeping bags and discards their shortcomings. In terms of carrying and usage comfort, it has been greatly improved.
Before purchasing a sleeping bag, ask yourself these questions? What is the low temperature of the environment where I participate in the activity? Do I care a lot about the weight? How much money do I plan to spend? If you only want to use the sleeping bag in an environment above 0 degrees, you may choose a lower temperature one, such as -3 degrees or -5 degrees. If your cold resistance is relatively weak, it is recommended that you also choose a sleeping bag with a lower temperature indicator. After all, dealing with warmth is much easier and safer than dealing with cold.
During the use of the sleeping bag, pay attention to keeping it dry. Because when the sleeping bag gets wet, its insulation performance will greatly decrease. Especially for down sleeping bags, they will completely lose their insulation. Therefore, in rainy weather or during water activities, protect the backpack from getting wet. Or seal the sleeping bag with a waterproof bag in advance. Sleeping bags that get wet should be dried as soon as possible or air-dried under the conditions allowed. Damp down sleeping bags cannot be stored for a long time, otherwise they will mold or even rot.
